Men's Soccer Shuts Out King's in MAC Freedom Road Contest

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (October 22) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team earned its third league win of the season as the Devils blanked King's College, 2-0, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) matchup on the road this evening.

After a scoreless first half, FDU-Florham struck twice over the final 45 minutes of the contest to account for the 2-0 final. In the 53rd minute, Mattia Assante Di Cupillo (Toms River, NJ) finished a cross from first-year Jake Nagle (Toms River, NJ) for the 1-0 edge.

Sophomore Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ) registered his team leading seventh goal of the season for an insurance goal off a long pass by Assante Di Cupillo. Toska's seven goals currently rank tied for second in the MAC Freedom and are 13th most in NCAA Division III men's soccer this fall.

As a team, FDU-Florham held an 18-14 edge in shots (7-4 on goal), while King's maintained a 4-2 edge in corner kicks. FDU-Florham keeper Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) made four saves and registered his seventh shutout, which ranks first in the MAC Freedom fourth in the nation this fall.

FDU-Florham will host Wilkes University on Tuesday, October 25 for its second to last regular season contest of the year at 7:00 pm on Robert T. Shields Field.
