Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (October 22) – The FDU-Florham field hockey team punched its ticket to the MAC Freedom playoffs with a dominant 5-0 victory at Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon as five different Devils found the back of the cage.
This will be the eighth straight season and 20th time in program history that FDU-Florham will appear in the MAC Freedom Tournament. Complete seeding for the MAC Freedom Tournament will take place following the conclusion of the regular season.

Liz Briles (Glassboro, NJ) built off her hat trick performance on Wednesday, putting in the first goal at the 7:48 mark off an assist from senior midfielder
Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ) for an early 1-0 lead in the first.
The Devils scored twice towards the end of the second quarter as junior midfielder
Rachel McHale (Montville, NJ) found first-year forward
Julianna Medina (
Linwood, NJ) for her fifth goal of the season at the 26:05 timestamp. FDU-Florham was awarded a penalty stroke with just 13 seconds to play before the break as junior defender
Megan Surgent (Wall, NJ) buried the ball into the cage for the 3-0 advantage going into halftime.
FDU-Florham expanded its lead in the third when sophomore forward
Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ) fired in a shot off a penalty corner from graduate student forward
Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) for the Devils fourth goal of the game.
Sophomore defender
Shannon Flatt (Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ) put the exclamation point on FDU's win, knocking in her first goal of the season and of her collegiate career off an assist from Surgent to cap off the 5-0 triumph.
Junior
Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) sophomore
Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) both saw time in the cage for the Devils, but neither faced a shot on the day. Prachthauser was credited with the victory this afternoon.
The Devils defense locked down the Colonels today, holding them to zero shots and zero penalty corners in comparison to their 11 shots and five penalty corners.
FDU will host a Hidden Opponent Mental Health Awareness Game Wednesday, October 26, against Montclair State University at 4:00 pm.
