Madison, NJ (October 19) – FDU-Florham senior Liz Briles (Glassboro, NJ) registered her first collegiate goal and capped her day with her first career hat trick as she guided the Devils to a 4-1 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) win over King's College on Wednesday afternoon.

Graduate student Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) also broke the program record for career goals as with two today she surpassed the mark of 56 that was set by 2022 FDU-Florham Hall of Fame inductee Kim Davis '16.

Records: FDU-Florham (8-7, 4-3 MAC Freedom), King's College (6-9, 3-3 MAC Freedom)
Location: Madison, NJ (Robert T. Shields Field)
FDU Goal Scorers: Liz Briles (1, 2, 3), Haleigh Flukey (8, 9).

Prior to today's game the Devils honored their senior class as they recognized Rachel McHale (Montville, NJ), Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ), Flukey and Briles.

Flukey registered the first goal of today's contest just 8:48 into the opening quarter as she tipped in a pass from Allie Serio (Scotch Plains, NJ). Flukey's first goal of the day was the 56th of her career, tying the program record.

King's tied the game at 1-1 three minutes later on a goal by Emma Clark, but FDU-Florham answered just 48-seconds following on an unassisted strike from Briles. The goal from Briles was her first of the season and first of her collegiate career as the score stood at 2-1 in favor of the Devils through 15 minutes of play.

The Devils were playing a player-down midway through the second stanza when McHale found Briles for her second goal of the game to extend FDU-Florham's advantage to 3-1 at the break. Briles completed the hat trick halfway through the third off a feed by Erin Kay (Lewes, Del.).

Flukey notched her second goal of the game and broke the FDU-Florham record for career goals late in the fourth quarter as she finished a pass from Serio to account for the 5-1 final.

FDU-Florham keeper Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) registered five saves in the victory for the Devils. As a team, FDU-Florham out shot King's, 10-7 (10-6 on goal) and held a 10-6 in penalty corners.
