Throggs Neck, NY (October 15) – FDU-Florham volleyball swept its third straight opponent as the Devils notched a 3-0 win over SUNY Maritime by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 25-19. FDU-Florham improved to 8-9 on the season with today's victory.

Vanessa Freeman (Piscataway, NJ) registered a career-high nine kills to go along with seven digs and hit .250 in the victory today. Classmate
Gabbie Hart (Cherry Hill, NJ) added nine kills for the Devils, while
Charlotte Fruscione (Mahwah, NJ) tallied six kills, two aces and nine digs for the Devils today.
Set 1: FDU-Florham jumped out to a 10-4 advantage in the opening stanza thanks to a pair of kills from both Hart and Fruscione. The Devils ballooned their lead to as many as 12 at 23-11 following an error by Maritime and secured the victory in the first set, 25-16, after a kill by
Jada Everett (Hackensack, NJ) and a service error by the hosts.
Set 2: In the second, FDU-Florham had its largest lead of eight (11-3) early on before Mairitme was able to cut its deficit to as few as four points midway through the stanza. The Devils maintained that edge all the way through as won the second on a 4-2 run (25-19) following singles kills by
Lilli Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ) and Hart, an ace by Fruscione and a service error by Maritime.
Set 3: Maritime took its first lead of the match at 5-4 early in the third, but FDU-Florham answered with a 6-0 spurt for a 10-5 edge. The Devils maintained that margin and was able to lead by as many as seven following a swing by
Kacie Ros (Bridgewater, NJ) en route to the 25-19 set three win and the sweep this afternoon.
FDU-Florham will return home on Thursday, October 20 at 7:00 pm for a non-conference matchup with Marywood University. Prior to the start of the match, the Devils will honor their Senior Class.
