Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Falls 6-0 to MAC Freedom Rival Misericordia

Dallas, PA (October 15) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer team was defeated by the Misericordia Cougars, 6-0, in a MAC Freedom game on Mangelsdorf Field, in Dallas, PA Saturday Night. Misericordia came into today's game ranked fourth in this week's United Soccer Coaches Region IV poll.

The game started out strong and fast, as the Cougars were able to strike first with what seemed to be the game winning goal, just four minutes into the match. The first goal of the night was a cross pass, about 10 yards out from the goal Devils goal.

This was the only goal in the first half by Misericordia, as the Devils made a defensive stance to close out the half.

In the second half of action on Saturday night, just eight minutes in, the Cougars were able to score again by passing the ball ahead of the devil defenders, making the score 2-0.

Misericordia struck for their third goal of the night at the 60:36 minute timestamp. The goal was scored from a pass that led to the opportune shot.

Misericordia's fourth goal was headed in the back of the net by off a pass in the air, from a free kick, 68 minutes into the game.

At the 70:30 timestamp, a fifth goal was scored by a set up play in front of the goalie box, making the score 5-0.

The Cougars final goal of the night was a lone goal, 5 minutes before the game expired.

Graduate goalkeeper Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) tallied a total of 6 saves in today's contest.

FDU-Florham is back in action again Wednesday October 19 at 7:00 PM, on Robert T. Shields Field when they face MAC Freedom competitor, Arcadia.
