Madison, NJ (October 11) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team opened its fall season with an 8-1 setback to New Jersey City University on Tuesday afternoon.
New Jersey took both contested points in doubles action by 8-0 and 8-1 scores after position No. 3 was forfeited due to not having enough players.
In singles play, the lone victor for the Devils was
Deanna Picarello, who earned her first collegiate win by a 6-0, 6-2 score at No. 4. Junior
Ashley Gaetani (Ridgefield Park, NJ) and Mar Julia played a tight match at No. 3 singles, but it was Julia who came back to win it 1-6, 7-5, 10-5.
