Madison, PA (October 12) – The FDU-Florham field hockey team fell in its MAC Freedom matchup to Stevens, 2-1 on Wednesday night. Both teams played this game in support of finding a cure for breast cancer.

After a scoreless first quarter, Stevens got on the scoreboard first off a tip in right in front of the cage at the 20:59 mark to take a 1-0 lead.
The Devils answered at the 28:15 timestamp as senior midfielder
Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ) knocked in a shot off a rebound to tie the contest, 1-1. The Ducks wasted no time retaking the lead however, firing in a shot from the right side at the 28:42 mark take a 2-1 edge.
FDU had the opportunity to tie the game at the 31:04 timestamp as graduate student forward
Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) was awarded a penalty stroke but missed the opportunity wide of the cage. Stevens was able to hold off to hold off FDU the rest of the contest to seal the win.

Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) made three saves in the cage during the contest.
FDU will hit the road for a conference matchup with Desales Saturday, October 15, at 12:00 pm.
