Madison, NJ (September 5) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team fell to No. 15 nationally-ranked Rowan University, 2-1, in the championship game of the Drew University Fall Festival on Sunday evening.

First Half:
- Rowan scored the first goal of the game in the 22nd minute after the Profs were awarded a corner kick. Alex Ferrara took the corner and found Gil Ferreira, who headed the ball into the right side of the net for the early 1-0 advantage.
Second Half:
- FDU worked hard to even the game midway through the second half. Senior Christian Vriones (Butler, NJ) ran the ball up on the left side of the field and drove through a Rowan defender. He took three steps towards goal and buried the shot into the back right corner of the net.
- With less than seven minutes to go in regulation, Wilby Alfred found Jay Vanermark for what proved to be the game winning and tournament winning goal.
Rowan held a 27-4 advantage in shots and a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. FDU keeper
Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) made six saves on eight shots for the Devils.
FDU returns to the pitch on Wednesday, September 8 with a road match at TCNJ. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
