Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (September 25) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team defeated Gwynedd Mercy University, 6-0, in a non-conference matchup on the road this afternoon. The victory for FDU pushed the Devils win streak to five.

FDU Goal Scorers: Billy Farnan (1), Salvatore Vassallo (1), Faizan Ashad (1), Stefan Zawojski (1), Brendon McGregor (3), Louis Mignone III (1)
 
First Half:

• FDU scored twice in the span of eight minutes in the first half of the match. Billy Farnan (Ocean City, NJ) and Salvatore Vassallo (Verona, NJ) both registered their first goals of the season on unassisted strikes for the 2-0 lead. 

Second Half:

• The Devils opened the flood gates over the second 45 minutes of play as FDU found the back of the net four more times. Faizan Arshad (Boonton, NJ) scored the in the 56th minute, Stefan Zawojski (Hawthorne, NJ) scored in the 69th minute, Brandon McGregor (Highland Mills, NY) scored in the 72nd minute and Louis Mignone III (West Orange, NJ) scored in the 88th minute.
   
• For Arshad and Mignone, their goals were the first of the season and the first of their collegiate careers.

As a team, FDU out shot Gwynedd Mercy, 21-1, and held a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. In net for the Devils, Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) picked up the win (6-2-1), while Jonathan Nicholson (Morristown, NJ) played the final 13 minutes of the game in his collegiate debut.
 
FDU will play its final non-conference match of the 2021 season on Wednesday, September 29 as the Devils will host Cairn University at 7:00 pm on Robert T. Shields Field.
