Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ) was the difference in today's game as the FDU-Florham field hockey team topped Gwynedd Mercy University, 1-0, on Robert T. Shields Field.

FDU scored the only goal it needed in today's win with 1:11 remaining in the opening quarter as Rodriguez registered an unassisted strike for her first collegiate goal.
The defense for the Devils came up huge late in the game as they tallied their second shutout win of the season. In total, FDU out shot Gwynedd Mercy 13-1 and held an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Megan March (Glen Burnie, Md.) had to make one save in net for the Devils as she pushed her record to 1-1 on the year.
FDU continues its four game home swing with a non-conference game against Muhlenberg on Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 pm.
