CONTRIBUTIONS TO ATHLETICS AWARDS At this year's Class of 2020 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Director of Athletics
Jenn Noon will be presenting the Contributions to Athletics Awards to
Edward and Beth Hennessy as well as
Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli for their generous gifts that helped fund the construction of Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field and Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli Ballpark.
Trustee Emeritus Vincent Naimoli, MBA'64 (Florham), who passed away in 2019, donated $1 million to support FDU's One University Many Dreams campaign. In recognition of that gift, the baseball field at the Florham Campus, was named to honor Naimoli and his wife. The new baseball field is an all turf surface with bullpens and batting cages for both teams. There is a state of the art press box, seating for up to 300 people in two sets of bleachers spanning both baselines and a nine inning scoreboard which sports the name Vincent J. and Lenda F. Naimoli Field running across it.
The construction of Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field was completed in October of 2020. The multipurpose track and field complex will be a new home to the FDU Devils field hockey, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's lacrosse and the newly added men's and women's track and field programs. The facility includes a full-synthetic turf field, eight-lane track, video scoreboard, and a 40-space parking lot. New locker room facilities, press box, and bleachers are in the plans for the future of Elizabeth Ruth Hennessy Field. The track and field programs on the Florham campus under the direction of new head coach
Kendall Luy are slated to begin in time for the 2022-23 academic year.
We cannot wait to honor all of the above individuals for their contributions towards FDU-Florham athletics on Sunday, October 10.
For those who cannot make it to Madison for the induction ceremony, the event will be streamed live on FDUDevils.com and a full highlight video recap of the event will be made available shortly thereafter.
