MADISON, NJ (April 2, 2021)- FDU Women's Tennis hosted Alvernia University in their home opening match this Friday, coming away victorious, 7-2. With the victory, the Devils improve to 2-1 on the season.

- Senior Nicole DelRosso swept her match 7-5, 6-2
- Senior Kira Bradley won in extra sets, 6-2, 4-6, 10-6
- Sophomore Kayla Dello Iacono won 6-2, 6-0
- Junior Erin Weller finished off her match, 6-4, 0-6, 10-4
- First-year Maggie Cronkite won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2
- The Devils doubles unit won 2-1

"We played a tough Alvernia team today. Although the score doesn't reflect it, every match was close. It could have gone either way, especially on the women's side. We put in a great week of practice and it showed today. The teams are understanding that you have to play with a game plan in mind. They did that today and we won a lot of key points when we needed them. I'm really proud of both teams. Days like today are special, especially with everything going on."
