WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 27, 2021)- FDU Men's Lacrosse traveled to King's College on Saturday afternoon, falling in a MAC Freedom matchup, 15-13. After the loss, the Devils fall to 1-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while the Monarchs improve to 1-5 and 1-3 in MAC conference play.

First Quarter
Sophomore
Brian Stewart got the scoring started for FDU in the first, four minutes into the game. Less than 20-seconds later, King's tied the game and one-minute after, took a 2-1 lead. FDU got back on the board at 7:24 in the first quarter, thanks to sophomore
Trevor Arnone netting his first of the game. With 4:22 left in the quarter, senior
Tyler Garcia scored his first to regain the one goal Devils advantage, 3-2. Again, King's responded, tying the game just 40-seconds later and taking their second lead of the game with 1:22 remaining in the frame, 4-3. King's closed out the quarter with a one goal lead.

Second Quarter
Again, FDU responded after the Monarchs took the lead, tying the game at four off the stick of Arnone. After a save on their defensive end by goalkeeper Jackson Campbell, King's capitalized, scoring their fifth of the game to retake a one-goal lead. It was the Monarchs again just two-minutes later, increasing the advantage to 6-4, their largest lead of the game. Nicholas Perillo netted his first to cut the lead in half, 6-5. King's scored the next three goals of the game to grab a 9-5 lead, before Garcia struck again with 04 seconds remaining in the half, King's led 9-6 at the break.

Third Quarter
Back and forth the contest continued, with Garcia scoring his third of the game to make it 9-7, before the Monarchs added two goals, 30-seconds apart, regaining a four-goal advantage, 11-7. King's added two more goals in the third quarter, and Perillo added another for FDU, giving the Monarchs a 13-8 lead headed into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter
After a King's goal to open the frame, sophomore
Lucas Berghahn netted his first of the game off an assist from sophomore
Zane Johnston. King's responded quickly to increase the lead to 15-9, before Johnston caught fire. Starting at the 10:02 mark, Johnston went on a scoring spree, netting four straight goals to bring the King's lead to 15-13. The Devils (Johnson) comeback fell short, with the Monarchs securing the 15-13 victory.

Garcia led the way offensively with three goals and two assists followed by Johnston, who had five goals and one assist.
