Madison, NJ (December 4) – FDU-Florham men's basketball graduate student
Oliver Ortman (North Caldwell, NJ) became the 32nd student-athlete in program history to score 1,000 career points as he scored 16 points in today's Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) setback to Wilkes University.

FDU's record dropped to 3-5 overall and to 0-2 in MAC Freedom play, while Wilkes moved to 3-5 overall and to 1-1 in league games.
Ortman and
Shawn Summers Jr. (Montclair, NJ) both scored 16 points to lead the Devils offensively, while
Jamal Santana (Randolph, NJ) added 11 points in 31 minutes of action. Drake Marshall paced Wilkes with a 15 point, ten rebound double double, while Trent Fisher scored a team-high 16 points for the Colonels.

The Devils took an early 7-2 lead following four points by
Matthew Johnson (Oak Ridge, NJ) and a three pointer by Santana over the first 3:17 of today's game. Wilkes worked back and took the lead at 10-9 after a jumper by Jason Eberhart and never relinquished its lead for the remainder of the game.

Up by two at 23-21 with 7:53 left in the first half, Wilkes put together a 21-2 run that stretched nearly seven minutes for a 21 point advantage (44-23) and that was capped by a three point shot by Cayden Merrifield. FDU scored the final five points of the half as the score stood at 44-28 at the break. Ortman's three point shot that he drained as the shot clock expired with two seconds to play in the stanza pushed him over the 1,000 career point mark.
Ortman became the first member of the 1,000 point club at FDU since Donte Ali in 2017 and now has 1,008 following today's game, which ties him with Chris Hendershot '05 for 29th most in program history.

Wilkes maintained its advantage and outscored FDU 39-32 in the second half en route to the 83-60 MAC Freedom victory. The Colonels posted its largest lead of the game of 26 points (69-43) midway through the second period.
