Madison, NJ (November 13) – The FDU-Florham football team fell to Stevenson University, 52-33, in the regular season finale for both teams this afternoon on Robert T. Shields Field.
Prior to the game, FDU honored its 21 senior football student-athletes and its three senior cheerleaders. Taking part in today's ceremony were

Stevenson (5-5, 5-3 MAC) secured a spot in the Centennial-MAC Bowl with the win, while FDU (6-4, 5-3 MAC) will await word of a bid to an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Bowl Game. Both bowl games will be announced tomorrow following selections to the NCAA Tournament.
In today's game, Hands broke the single season record for sacks as he now as 12 on the year, while Caserta broke the single season records for passing yards with 2,487 and passing touchdowns with 25.
The Mustangs scored two touchdowns in the opening quarter for an early 14-0 advantage. Quarterback Ryan Sedgwick connected with Amir Moore on a six yard pass, while Brandon Walker ran six yards on the ground into the end zone.
FDU scored its first touchdown and cut its deficit to one possession after the Devils put together a 10 play, 75 yard drive that was capped by a one yard rush by Caserta. Both teams scored a touchdown prior to the 95 minute lightning delay as the score stood at 21-14 in favor of the Mustangs.
Stevenson came out of the delay and kicked a 32 yard field goal for the 24-14 edge prior to halftime.
In the second half, there were a combined seven touchdowns between the two teams. Stevenson scored two touchdowns in both the third and the fourth quarters accounting for its 52 total points, while FDU scored three times.
Caserta found
Adrian Reese (Indianapolis, Ind.) for a 30 yard touchdown in the third quarter as well as Sullivan and
Danny Murphy (Chester, NJ) in the fourth. Sullivan's TD came as a seven yard reception from Caserta with 8:38 to play in the fourth, while Murphy's came as a 31 yard reception as time expired.
