Madison, NJ (October 5) – A second half rally by the FDU-Florham men's soccer team came up just short against King's College, 3-2, in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) contest on Robert T. Shields Field tonight.

King's College scored three goals over the first 40 minutes of play. In the ninth minute, Kyle Shalvey fed the ball into the box to Buck Diacont, who finished his shot into the bottom right corner of the net for the 1-0 edge.
Less than four minutes later, Shalvey registered his third point of the night as he found the back of the net off a cross by Aziz Atiyeh. Before the half was over, Aidan Oyler scored the third goal of the game for King's off a corner kick by Evan Egnatovich.
The rally for FDU began in the 61st minute, when
Oliver Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) registered his team leading fifth goal of the year on a penalty kick.
With less than a minute to play,
Kenneth Campen (Little Falls, NJ) tallied his first goal of the season off a corner kick from
Ricky La Stella (Bridgewater, NJ). FDU just ran out of time in the match tonight as the final score read 3-2 in favor of King's in the conference contest.
Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) made six saves for the Devils, while Cole Catherman stopped the ball eight times for King's.
Both teams registered 16 shots over 90 minutes, while King's held a slim 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
FDU continues MAC Freedom play on Saturday with a road match at DeSales University at 3:00 pm.
