Madison, NJ (October 23) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team picked up a 3-1 win over Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) rival Misericordia University this afternoon on Robert T. Shields Field. Misericordia came into today's match atop the MAC Freedom standings and ranked in the initial NCAA Division III Region IV rankings.

FDU, which earned its first win over Misericordia since the 2017 season, scored the first goal of the game in the 36th minute.
Hunter Kolmodin (Montville, NJ) lined up for a free kick about 60 yards from the goal and found La Stella, who headed the ball into the right corner of the net for the 1-0 edge.
The Devils needed to win today's game in order to stay in the running for a berth in both the MAC Freedom postseason tournament and the ECAC postseason tournament.
Misericordia answered less than two minutes later as Luke Ferrarese found Charles Gugel on the right side tying the match up at 1-1 prior to the break.
Grey kept the Devils in the game as he made five saves in the second half before FDU registered the go ahead goal with less than nine minutes remaining in regulation.
Yariel Parapi (North Bergen, NJ) crossed the ball from the left side into the box and found Allington, who ripped a shot into the right side of the net for his second goal of the season and the 2-1 lead.
Three minutes later, Allington crossed the ball to
Louis Mignone III (West Orange, NJ) for the all important insurance goal as the Devils came away with the 3-1 victory.
Misericordia out shot FDU 23-12 (10-3 on goal) and held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks. Grey made nine saves over 90 minutes of action for the Devils, while Andrew Daubenspeck did not make a save for the Cougars.
FDU will round out its 2021 regular season with a home match against Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, October 27 at 7:00 pm on Robert T. Shields Field.
