Madison, NJ (October 13) – FDU-Florham men's soccer senior
Christian Vriones (Butler, NJ) scored the game winning goal in tonight's 1-0 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) matchup with Delaware Valley on Robert T. Shields Field.
The win was the first MAC Freedom win of the year for FDU-Florham as the Devils pushed their record to 7-5-2 overall and to 1-2-1 in conference play.
The match was scoreless until the 59th minute. Delaware Valley failed to clear the ball out of its end of the field and it went right to Vriones, who buried the shot into the corner of the net for the 1-0 edge. The goal for Vriones was his third of the season and first since September 18 at Farmingdale State.
FDU's defense played tough as the Devils allowed just seven total shots (three on goal) to Delaware Valley tonight – three in the first half and four in the second. FDU out shot Delaware Valley, 25-7 (10-3 on goal). The Devils also had a huge 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) pushed his record to 7-5-2 on the season with three saves in net for the Devils. Quinn McCarty made nine saves for Delaware Valley in the loss.
FDU will play at Lycoming on Saturday, October 16 at 3:30 pm in a MAC Freedom match.
