Galloway, NJ (October 12) – The FDU-Florham field hockey team fell in overtime on the road to Stockton University in a non-conference matchup tonight.

After a scoreless opening quarter, FDU scored the first goal of the game as senior
Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) scored off a feed by
Sydney Moskal (Washington, NJ) following a penalty corner. Stockton answered two and a half minutes later as Alexandra Palumbo scored after an original blocked shot.
Before the horn sounded, Flukey gave the Devils the lead once again (2-1) on an unassisted strike with 1:20 to play prior to the break.
FDU went ahead 3-1 just 40 seconds into the third quarter after
Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ)registered her third goal of the season off a rebound. From this point on the game was controlled by Stockton.
The hosts scored once in the third and once in the fourth tying the game up at 3-3 and forcing overtime. Five minutes into overtime, a penalty stroke was called against the Devils and Gracee Roberts converted the attempt for Stockton as FDU fell, 4-3, in its final non-conference regular season game of the 2021 season.
Both FDU keeper
Megan March (Glen Burnie, Md.) and Stockton keeper Kylie Mitchell made five saves in the overtime matchup. As a team, Stockton out shot FDU, 20-9 (9-8 on goal) and held a huge 24-6 advantage in penalty corners.
FDU returns home for a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match against Wilkes University on Saturday, October 16 at 5:00 pm. Prior to the game, FDU will honor its senior class.
