Location: Robert T. Shields Field
FDU Goal Scorer: Ashley Moskal (3, 4),
Kendall Moore (2),
Lauren Nawrotzki (1, 2)
FDU struck for three goals in the opening quarter all of which came in a span of less than two minutes. Moskal's two goals, which came less than 30 seconds apart, were scored in the same exact way. The first-year took the ball from
Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) at the top of the arc off a penalty corner and ripped the ball into the back of the cage both times.
Before the quarter was up,
Kendall Moore (Ocean Township, NJ) made the score 3-0 with her second goal of the season. Moore fired a shot into the cage off a rebound by the King's goalkeeper.
As she did in the first quarter, Flukey set up both goals in the third. Flukey found Moskal at the top of the arc and on both goals, which came less than two minutes apart in the period, the ball was redirected in front of the cage by
Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ). Nawrotzki's goals were her first and second of the season.
As a team, FDU out shot King's, 20-3 (14-1 on goal) and held a 6-1 advantage in penalty corners. FDU keeper
Megan March (Glen Burnie, Md.) earned the win in cage with 45 shutout minutes before
Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) made one save in the final quarter for the Devils.
FDU will travel to New Paltz for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 pm.
