MADISON, NJ- On Monday, October 5, the FDU Devils Athletics Department hosted the Robert T. Shields Golf Outing at Cedar Hill Golf and Country Club in Livingston, NJ. This was the 23^rd annual golf outing for Devils Athletics, with the main goal of raising money to benefit the student-athletes at FDU-Florham. The outing is a great opportunity for FDU alumni to reconnect with old teammates, show their support of Devils Athletics and continue to grow sports traditions on the Florham campus.  

"The FDU Athletic outing is, by far, one of my favorite days of the year. With busy lives, growing families and responsibilities, taking a day every year to spend with my dear friends and teammates from FDU is tremendous," explained FDU golf outing committee member, Chance Healy '94. "The laughs, memories and golf, are always unforgettable. Furthermore, meeting the current student-athletes and coaches connects everyone, old and new, to the unforgettable experience that is FDU athletics."

17- Number of young alumni registered to golf(graduates of FDU within the last 10 years).

"It was great to see so many familiar and new faces as the 23^rd edition of the Shields/Devils Golf Outing was one of the biggest in recent memory," said Head Basketball/Golf Coach and Director of the Devils Golf Outing, Jeff Slanovec. "Cedar Hill allowed us to celebrate Devils Athletics in a fun, yet safe environment, which set the tone for a great day. We're excited to continue to grow the outing and make it even better next year, so be sure to save the date of October 4, 2021 for the 24^th Annual Robert T. Shields/Devils Athletics Golf Outing!"

"The Robert T. Shields Memorial Devils Golf Outing directly benefits our student-athletes and enhances their experience during their time as a Devil," explained Director of Athletics and member of the golf outing committee, Jenn Noon. "It is because of our alumni, sponsors, and donors that contribute year after year, in which we are able to upgrade the experience with improvements throughout our department, weight room, and additional branding at athletic venues. This past year was tough for the Devils Athletics Family, not only due to the pandemic, but also with the passing of Roger P. Kindel, especially with the golf outing being one of his favorite events. I appreciate all of the attendees honoring his legacy through sharing their favorite memories about "Rog". On behalf of the entire Devils Athletics Department-we thank you and look forward to seeing you again next year!"
