DALLAS, Pa. (April 6, 2019) - The FDU-Florham men's tennis team recorded a shutout on Saturday, topping Misericordia University 9-0.
The Devils move to 9-5 on the season, including a 1-1 mark within the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
FDU only dropped two games across all three doubles flights, with senior
Brendon Urbano and rookie
CJ Milano winning 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Senior
Rich Bennett and junior
Kevin Weller won 8-0 at No. 1 with freshman
JT Murray and junior
Chris Fiorenza notching a blanking at the second flight.
Bennett cruised to a comfortable 6-1, 6-0 victory at the top of the Devils singles lineup, with freshman
Michael LaNeve falling in just one game at the No. 4 flight. LaNeve coasted to a 6-1, 6-0 victory. At No. 6, Urbano notched his second victory of the afternoon, winning handily 6-3, 6-0. Freshman
John Bricker moved up to No. 2 singles and won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Murray and sophomore
Tyler Schacher followed up, picking 6-0, 6-0 shutout victories at No. 3 and No. 5 singles respectively.
