PURCHASE, N.Y. (April 10, 2018) - The FDU-Florham men's tennis team was topped by Manhattanville College 9-0 Wednesday afternoon.
FDU falls to 9-6 overall, 1-2 within the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
The Devils dropped all three doubles matches, but nearly pulled off wins at the second and third flights. Freshman
JT Murray and junior
Chris Fiorenza were bumped off 8-5, while sophomore
Tyler Schacher and rookie
Michael LaNeve were bested 8-4.
Fiorenza and Murray each advanced to a third set in their respective matches at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Fiorenza and his opponent split the first two sets with each winning 6-4 before a long third set. The Valiant competitor edged Fiorenza 12-10 to win, while Murray was topped 10-5 in the tiebreaking third set. He had lost the first 6-2 before rebounding with a 6-4 win.
