CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (April 18, 2019) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team was doubled up by DeSales University 6-3 Thursday.
The Devils are now 12-3 on the season, and 3-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
FDU fell behind 2-1 after the two doubles flights. Junior
Christine Kenny and senior
Allyson Wolf dropped an 8-4 decision at the top of the lineup, while junior
Logan Squires and rookie
Erin Weller fell 8-5 at No. 3. The Devils pulled off a win at the No. 2, as sophomore
Nicole DelRosso and junior
Mia Capozzoli pulled off the 8-7 (7-4) triumph.
DelRosso made it two victories on the day with her 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, but the Bulldogs picked up wins at the second and third flights. Capozzoli, like DelRosso, earned a second win during singles action, needing three sets to win at the fourth flight. The junior won the 6-2 in the first before falling 6-4 in the second. Capozzoli rebounded with a 10-6 triumph in the tiebreaking set. DeSales closed out the match with wins at No. 5 and No. 6.
