Madison, NJ (November 6, 2019) The FDU Field Hockey team earns its second consecutive berth in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Finals by way of a 1-0 shutout over Misericordia University. A goal by
Emilee Vizzuso in the second quarter, helped lift the Devils to victory.
The Difference
With nine minutes remaining in the second quarter, Vizzuso executed off of an assist from sophomore
Haleigh Flukey for the games lone goal, putting the Devils in the drivers' seat. The goal by the sophomore was her second of the season. Flukey now has three assists on the season, and added to her MAC Freedom lead in points, with 51 on the year. Junior
Marissa Colvin, sophomore
Sydney Moskal, and seniors
Marie Pietracatella and
Ariana Wexler all generated offense for the Devils with multiple shot attempts.
Breakdown
The Devils took 15 shots on the evening, compared to the one shot taken by the Cougars. The senior duo of
Maggie Sohns and
Jessica Pietracatella led all Devils in shots, with four a piece.
