Andrew Romanella Named Sports Information Director

Madison, NJ (November 4, 2019)-  Fairleigh Dickinson University Florham Director of Athletics, Jenn Noon, has announced the promotion of Andrew Romanella to Sports Information Director.

Romanella steps into the Sports Information Director role after spending the 2018-2019 year as the FDU Baseball Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach.
 
For the last six years, Romanella has held the position of Broadcaster and Color Commentator at St. Thomas Aquinas College for both the Men's and Women's Basketball programs. During his time at STAC, he has announced and reported on over 100 games including 4 Regular Season Championship teams, 4 Conference Championship teams and the the 2016-2017 Men's East Region Championship team that reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight. During that time, Romanella covered the career of Justin Reyes who finished as the East Coast Conference All-Time Leading Scorer and was the 28th overall pick of the Utah Jazz G-league team in 2018.
 
Romanella also has experience covering Football, Soccer and Hockey at the NCAA Division 2, 3 and club levels. That included broadcasting a game in January 2019 between STAC and Stevens Institute of Technology at the Barclays center in Brooklyn, NY.
 
Prior to his time in college athletics, Romanella spent 3 years as the Director of Social Media for Zoned Sports Academy in Bridgewater, NJ. While at Zoned, Andrew controlled all communications for 12 travel teams from age's 10-17U and the promotion of over 20 combined baseball and softball instructors. Under his guidance, Zoned Sports Academy was able to substantially grow on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube now having over 11,000 combined followers between their four social sites.
 
Outside of Athletics, Romanella hosts "The Rome Show" a nationally recorded internet Radio Show airing every Monday from 7-8pm on Hamilton Radio Channel Two. He has produced over 100 podcast episodes airing on such sites as Apple and Google Podcasts, Spotify and Soundcloud.
 
"It's an honor to promote Andrew Romanella to Sports Information Director," said Noon. " Andrew has always displayed the utmost pride for FDU with his broadcasts at home events. His experience within public relations is extensive and I'm thrilled to have him fully apart of the Athletics Department.
 
"I am extremely excited to be stepping into the role of Sports Information Director at FDU," said Romanella. " The opportunity to promote the vision of Devils Athletics is one I am excited to take on. I would like to thank Athletic Director Jenn Noon and Associate Athletic Directors Kristin Giotta and Pat Scarpello for believing in me. The goal is to take our athletic communications at FDU to the next level and I am excited to get started!"
 
Romanella is a 2013 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas College with a degree in Communications. He transferred from City College of New York after studying there from 2009-2011. Andrew was a member of both Baseball programs from 2009-2013 helping STAC to its first conference championship and NCAA berth in school history.  He is currently working towards an MBA in Business at FDU.
