Montclair, NJ (November 20)- The FDU women's basketball team fell to Montclair State University 78-66 on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Devil's drop to 1-3 on the season while the Red Hawks in prove to 2-2.
FIRST QUARTER
The game was back-and-forth early with FDU taking a 4-2 lead on the heels of two consecutive buckets from senior Kayla Staggers. MSU would quickly regain the lead, opening up their largest lead of the first quarter at 6 points. MSU would finish the first quarter leading 17-11.
SECOND QUARTER
Early in the second quarter, staggers knocked down a jumper to pull the Devils within one at 19-18. Montclair State would then go on to score the game's next 9 points. The Red Hawks would open up their largest lead of the first half at 15 points, going into the half time break up 39-26.

Arian Coleman each contribute 4 points for FDU.
SECOND HALF
The second half of play was largely controlled by Montclair State, outscoring the devil's 21-15 in the third quarter. FDU did not stop fighting, finishing the fourth quarter on a 13-4 run after Montclair State had built a 23-point lead. The game finished 78-66.
Freshman
Angela Downey led the devils with 11 second half points. Coleman finished with 8 and Roman with 7.
LEAD DEVIL
Staggers paced the offense for FDU, ending the game with 16 points on 7-of-14 (50%) from the field.
KEY CONTRIBUTORS
Downey finished the game with 14 points, knocking down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc. Coleman finished the contest with 12 points, while Roman added 11.
NEXT UP
The Devils return home to the Ferguson Recreation Center Saturday, November 23 when they take on Stockton University. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
