MADISON, N.J. (October 22, 2019) – The FDU men's soccer team had five different players score en route to a 5-2 victory over Delaware Valley University Tuesday.
FDU picked up their first Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom victory of the season, as they move to 6-7-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. The Aggies move to 5-10-1 overall and 0-5 in the MAC Freedom.
The Devils tallied the first two shot attempts of the contest, as junior Kenneth Campen fired away a shot that ended wide in the third minute, and in the 14th-minute sophomore Salvatore Vassallo's shot attempt was high.
On their third shot of the evening, FDU executed, when sophomore Jack Zaretsky scored off an assist by freshman Oliver Trujillo off of a corner kick for his first collegiate goal. In the 24th minute, Delaware Valley responded, as they tied up the score, 1-1. The Devils did not take long to retake the lead. In the 32nd minute, junior Jonathan Rodriguez was successful off his attempt, putting the Devils back on top, 2-1. FDU entered halftime with a 2-1 advantage.
In the 51st minute, FDU continued to add to their lead, as junior Brandon McGregor recovered the ball off the bounce for the score. Up 4-1, the Devils' offensive unit connected once again in the 53rd minute, when sophomore Michael Rosario took a pass from Rodriguez for the goal. The Devils tacked on their final goal of the game in the 77th minute as Vassallo scored off an assist from Rosario, to put the Devils up on the Aggies, 5-1.
In the 77th minute, sophomore goalie Tiernan Grey kept the Aggies off of the scoreboard, as he brought-in the Delaware Valley shot attempt for the save. In the 82nd minute, the Aggies scored to shorten the deficit. The final horn sounded, as the Devils held on for the win.

- Rodriguez's score was his fifth on the season.
- McGregor scored his eighth goal on the season which ties him for first among all MAC Freedom players.
- Vassallo is tied for second in the MAC Freedom in goals, with seven.
- The Devils outshot DVU 19-6, and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
