MADISON, N.J. (January 28, 2019) - The FDU-Florham women's tennis team was selected to place second in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Coaches Preseason Poll Monday.
The Devils gained every second-place vote, collecting 35 points. Wilkes gained all seven first-place tallies, picking up 49 points while King's was third with 33 points. DeSales and Manhattanville each gained 28 points, tying them for fourth place. Rounding the poll was Misericordia, Eastern and Delaware Valley.
FDU reached the MAC Freedom Championship last season as the No. 2 seed, knocking off DeSales in the semifinals 5-1. The team was knocked off by Wilkes in the Championship match last season. During the fall, FDU went an unblemished 6-0, losing just five flights over the six matches.
Sophomore
Kira Bradley and junior
Mia Capozzoli each advanced to the finals of their flight at the MAC Individual Championships in October, with sophomore
Nicole DelRosso and senior
Allyson Wolf advancing to the semifinal round.
FDU returns one All-MAC Freedom selection from last year, as DelRosso was named a First Team honoree.
