ALLENTOWN, Pa. (September 8, 2018) - The FDU-Florham volleyball team dropped a three set match to Stockton before falling in five to No.24 Stevenson during day two of the Buttermaker Classic hosted by Muhlenberg.
FDU drops to 2-7 with the setbacks.
STOCKTON 3, FDU-FLORHAM 0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-21)
After a back and forth beginning of the opening set, Stockton reeled off eight of nine points to take a 17-11 lead. The Devils battled back, and back-to-back kills from
Nathalia Padron brought the score to 17-14. The Ospreys used an Allie Desmond kill to bring up set point, but FDU staved off three straight set points before eventually dropping the opening frame.
The Ospreys controlled the second period, jumping ahead 16-6. FDU whittled the lead down behind strong serving from
Lauren Harris, but Stockton notched five straight points to make the score 24-13. Four straight Stockton unforced errors prolonged the set, but the Ospreys ended the comeback hopes with a kill to go in front 2-0.
With the Devils trailing 13-12 in the third frame, Stockton tallied three straight to take a four point lead. FDU battled back, and a Stockton ball-handling error evened the score at 17. Harris registered a kill to once again tie things at 21, but the Ospreys would tally the final four points to end the match.

Kacie Ros posted a double-double of 18 assists and 15 kills.

Marissa Lehnert was the team leader with 12 kills and three total blocks while adding six digs. Harris recorded a season-best 25 digs to go along with five kills, while Ros handed out 34 assists and 18 digs. Sophomore libero
Rebecca Morse registered 18 digs, while Quinlan served up a team-high three aces.
FDU opens Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom play Wednesday, heading out to King's for a 7 p.m. match.
