HOBOKEN, N.J. (August 31, 2018) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to Stevens in a non-conference contest on Friday night to begin the 2018 season.
In the first half Stevens out-shot FDU-Florham 14-2, but only one of their shots found the back of the net in the 16th minute.
Sophomore
Parker Malman saved eight shots including penalty shots in the 33rd and 54th minute. Stevens netted their second goal on a rebound off the penalty kick in the 54th minute. FDU's best chances came in the 35th and 37th minutes, but shots by freshman
Billy Farnan and sophomore Brendan McGregor sailed high.
Daniel Aversano of Stevens completed the hat trick in the 68th minute and 12 minutes later they added another to extend their lead to 4-0.
Malman made eight saves in just over 79 minutes, while sophomore
Liam Ryan made one.
The Devils will have their home opener next against Ferrum College on Sunday, Sept. 2 at 11 a. m.
