MORRISTOWN, N.J. (April 13, 2018) - Senior
Chris Ly recorded his 100th career win as the FDU men's tennis team topped St. Elizabeth 9-0 Friday afternoon.
Ly, the programs all-time leader in wins, becomes the first student-athlete in program history to cross the century mark in victories. Today, he earned an 8-1 win with classmate
Max Moscowitz, before blanking his opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles.
"We are so proud of Chris and all he has accomplished here at FDU. Getting his 100th win was a special moment," said head coach
Tom Battaglia. "The entire team swarmed him as he came off the court. We are very lucky to have him and I'm excited to see how many wins he winds up with in the last few weeks,"
Moscowitz also won twice, picking up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Sophomore
Brendon Urbano and senior
Steven Serras notched an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles before the sophomore duo of
Chris Fiorenza and
Kevin Weller won by forfeit at No. 3 doubles.
Weller cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, while freshman
Christopher McArthur and
Christopher Carey each picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles. Carey was impressive in his 6-0, 6-0 thrashing.
