MADISON, N.J. (April 11, 2018) - The FDU women's tennis team knocked off DeSales 8-1 Wednesday afternoon.
The Devils move to 5-3 and 2-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
FDU led 2-1 after doubles, as the team of senior Amelia Vetto and junior Allyson Wolf notched 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles. The Devils gained the edge heading into singles after senior Serina Grande and freshman Kira Bradley picked up an 8-3 victory.
The Devils swept singles play, with some matches playing only one set due to darkness. Bradley and sophomore Mia Capozzoli controlled the bottom of the lineup, winning 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-1 respectively.
Freshman Nicole DelRosso earned a hard fought 8-6 win at No. 1 singles, while Kenny, Wolf and Grande also earned double victories on the day.
FDU is back in action Friday, taking on St. Elizabeth's at 3 p.m.
