MADISON, N.J. (April 11, 2018) - Senior
Steven Serras of the FDU men's tennis team earned his 50th career win as the Devils topped DeSales 8-1 Wednesday.
FDU moves to 7-2 on the season, while evening up at 1-1 within the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom.
The Devils picked up a pair of wins at doubles, with wins not coming easy. Senior
Max Moscowitz and sophomore
Kevin Weller grinded out a 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles before senior
Chris Ly and sophomore
Chris Fiorenza squeaked out an 8-6 win at No. 2.
Like the women's team, the Devils went a perfect 6-for-6 in singles action. Moscowitz, Weller, Ly, and Fiorenza were double-winners on the day. Ly was particularly impressive, gaining a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3.
Freshman Tyler Schacher held off his opponent at No. 5 singles, winning 9-8 (7-4) in the tiebreaker. Fiorenza capped the day off with a 9-7 victory at No. 6 singles.
FDU is back in action Friday, taking on St. Elizabeth's at 3 p.m.
