ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (March 17, 2018) - The FDU men's tennis team earned a 9-0 win over Elizabethtown Saturday afternoon.
The Devils improve to 6-1 with the result, while the Blue Jays fell to 1-5.
All six Devils who competed were double winners. The first doubles pairing of senior Max Moscowitz and sophomore Kevin Weller didn't drop a game, winning handily 8-0. Likewise, freshman Tyler Schacher and senior Steven Serras won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore Chris Fiorenza and senior Chris Ly had a hard-fought 8-6 win a No. 2 doubles.
Weller, Ly and Serras saw their singles matches come three sets each. Weller and Serras each dropped the first set before rallying back to win the next two. Moscowitz cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles, while Schacher won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5.
"Men took care of business today. The final score isn't indicative of how Elizabethtown played," exclaimed Head Coach Tom Battaglia. "Every match had great points. We just held it together a little longer and won the key points."
The Devils will next compete on Wednesday, April 4 when they travel to King's for a 3 p.m, contest against the Monarchs.
