MADISON, N.J. (October 12, 2018) - The FDU-Florham women's tennis team shut down St. Joseph's-Brooklyn 9-0 Friday afternoon.
The match was the Devils first home of the season, as the team improved to 5-0 on the season.
The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles team did not drop a set, winning 8-0 at each flight. Juniors
Christine Kenny and
Mia Capozzoli made up the No. 2 team, while
Meghann Hargis and
Jessika Buenaventura competed at No. 3. Buenaventura was victorious in her collegiate. Sophomores
Nicole DelRosso and
Kira Bradley rounded out the doubles wins, picking up an 8-2 triumph.
Senior
Allyson Wolf, sophomore
Brooke Dorsey and Capozzoli each recorded identical 6-0, 6-0 victories in the middle of the lineup. Wolf was slotted in at No. 3, Capozzoli at No. 4, and Dorsey was at No 5.
DelRosso was at straight set winner at No. 1 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2. Kenny picked up the win at No. 2, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 victory. Junior
Logan Squires completed the sweep, recording an 8-0 pro-style set win at No. 6.
FDU has one match left before the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships, hosting Brooklyn College at 3:30 p.m. on October 18.
