DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The FDU-Florham women's basketball team rolled to 68-42 win over Delaware Valley University in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom matchup on Saturday afternoon.
The Devils improve to 12-5 on the season and 5-1 in the conference as the Aggies drop to 5-12 and 2-4 in the MAC Freedom.
FDU-Florham came out with one of their strongest starts of the season, grabbing a 25-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Sophomore guard
Kendrea Williams sunk three-straight from behind-the-arc and classmate
Gabrielle Harris converted on a fast break layup to close out a 13-0 run at the end of the first quarter.
The Aggies outplayed the Devils in the second quarter though, outscoring FDU, 19-9. At the half, the Devils made the necessary adjustments and dominated the remainder of the contest.
Williams finished the night with 25 points as Harris grabbed 14 overall. Junior
Bria Smith made a difference with eight rebounds and nine points as
Raven Dowling paired six points with five assists.
Senior
Michaela Piserchia played a key role on the defensive glass, making two momentum-shifting blocks and picking up three rebounds to go along with four points.
FDU-Florham took advantage of turnovers, scoring 32 points off turnovers and capitalized on 13 second chance points.
Up next, the Devils will hit the road to face Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. at 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.
