MADISON, N.J. (January 10, 2018) - The FDU men's basketball team fell to King's 81-67 on Wednesday evening.
The Devils raced out to a 10-2 lead, converting their first five shots in the process. King's scored the next nine before junior
Darren Davy converted a jumper from
Steve Herdman. That would be the only bucket the team scored over a seven minute span, seeing the guests grab a lead they did not give up.
Sophomore
Rajaan Dixon tallied five straight points to trim the gap down to two with 5:58 left, but a layup near the end of the frame established the six point lead. The Devils shot a 56% in the first half, but were done in by 12 opening period turnovers.
Freshman
Shawn Smith hit a layup with 13:48 left to once again make the game a single possession game but the next four markers went to King's. The Monarchs would go on a 17-2 rally over the next five minutes to break the game open.
Davy had 14 points and nine rebounds, while freshman
Shawn Smith tallied 13 points and 10 dimes. Dixon notched 12 points and four boards, as freshman
Ahmad St. Fleur had six points and four rebounds off the bench.
