Football Falls At Home to No. 9 Delaware Valley

MADISON, N.J. (September 29, 2017) - The FDU football team fell at home to No. 9 Delaware Valley 60-7 Friday evening.

The Aggies move to 5-0 overall, and 4-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. The Devils are 1-4 on the year, including an 0-4 mark in conference.

Delaware Valley scored on their first possession, as they went 38 yards in seven plays, capped off with a two yard rushing touchdown. The Devils, who went three-and-out on their first two series, forced a fumble on ensuing Delaware Valley drive. Senior Esaun Mobley hit a receiver just as he caught the ball and sophomore Isaiah Turner eventually picked up the loose ball near midfield.

The Devils were unable to capitalize, and the visitors would score touchdowns on their next two series, constructing a 20-0 lead. The lead ballooned to 27-0 midway through the first half, before another turnover led to a Devils touchdown. Turner intercepted a pass at the 38 yard line and rumbled 35 yards to the three. Three plays later, sophomore Jagger Green hit senior Malik Pressley for a two-yard strike, putting the Devils on the board.

The Aggies tallied 33 unanswered points spanning the remainder of the first half and second stanza. Freshman Alnazir Blackman a career-long 50-yard run in the fourth quarter and totaled 56 yards on the Devils final drive.

The freshman Blackman had 98 yards on 12 carries, while Pressley hauled in eight balls for 38 yards with the lone touchdown. Defensively, Turner had 18 tackles (seven solo), a fumble recovery and an interception. George DiBiase made 13 stops while senior Ryan Wilson had seven tackles and a sack.
