MADISON, N.J. (September 22, 2017) - Senior
Courtney Conte handed out 85 assists over two matches as the FDU volleyball team topped Albright and St. Vincent Friday.
The Devils are now 9-3 on the season with the two victories.
FDU-Florham 3, Albright 0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-19)
The Devils limited Albright to a .145 hitting percentage over the three sets, forcing them into 12 attack errors. FDU had 41 kills and only nine errors, good for a .299 hitting clip.
Melissa Gaffney posted a double-double of 14 kills and 10 digs, while Conte dished out 25 assists.
Marissa Lehnert had a season-high six total blocks, including four solos.
FDU-Florham 3, St. Vincent 2 (25-18, 24-26, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12)
After falling behind 2-1, the Devils rebounded to take the final two. Conte had a career-best 60 assists over the five sets, and the Devils slugged at a .319 clip including a .500 hitting percentage in the first set.
Nathalia Padron had seven kills, while
Lauren Harris and Gaffney each posted double-doubles. Gaffney had 15 kills and 22 digs, while Harris had 19 kills and 13 digs.
The Devils will play two more matches tomorrow in day two of the York Invitational.
