Football Drops Conference Game to Stevenson

MADISON, N.J. (September 16, 2017) - The FDU football team fell to Stevenson in MAC action 52-14 Saturday afternoon.

The Devils drop to 1-2, 0-2 in the conference.

Both sides went 3-and-out on their first two possessions, before senior Esuan Mobley forced and recovered a fumble at the Mustang 32. Three plays later, sophomore Steve Iannone pounded in a seven yard touchdown run giving FDU a 7-0 lead.

The lead was short-lived, as Stevenson went down the field in a nine play drive, capped off with an eight yard rushing TD by Isaiah Austin. The Mustangs scored once before the quarter was over, as they took advantage of a turnover and used one passing play for the score.

Stevenson tacked on a field goal to open the second, and then on their next possession scored on a 67-yard pass play to build a 17 point edge.  With 3:47 left in the half, Mustang QB Dan Williams hit Preston Addo for an 80-yard strike.

Addo would return a punt 83 yards for his third TD of the afternoon, but the Devils scored their first defensive touchdown of the season, as Shaun Benford intercepted a pass and scooted 42 yards for the defensive score. The Musttangs would score one final time to end the game 52-14.

Sophomore Jagger Green went 17-of-31 for 110 yards while Iannone had eight carries for 42 yards. Sophomore Isaiah Turner had 19 tackles, while senior Michael Ferrante had 12.
