Maggio, Carr Set Milestones in Devils' Conference Win

MADISON, N.J. -- FDU-Florham women's lacrosse senior attacker Frances Maggio notched her 100th career point as head coach Adrienne Carr recorded her 150th career win in 13 seasons with the Devils in a 17-2 conference win over DeSales Wednesday afternoon.

The Devils improved to 7-3 and 1-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom as the Bulldogs dropped 4-6 and 0-1 in the MAC Freedom.

FDU-Florham outshot the Bulldogs, 30-6 and picked up 27 ground balls to DeSales' eight.

Maggio fired in her 15th goal of the season in the 26th minute to earn her 150th career point. She followed up with another goal with 43 seconds remaining in the first half to put the Devils up, 13-0. The senior finished her campaign with three goals and two assists.

Senior Joelle Manganella and junior Samantha Holleritter also added three goals each while junior Cassidy Vastano and senior Noelle Shirey added two a piece. Seniors Kelsey Ryan, Brittni Calleo, Laura Cannillo and sophomore Kathleen Petrucelli contributed a goal each in the victory.

The Devils wasted no time at all, striking in eight goals in just eight minutes of play to secure the early lead.

Shirey was a force on the field for FDU-Florham, adding an assist, six ground balls and four draw controls to her pair of goals. Petrucelli made a difference with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

The Bulldogs came out with the first goal of the second half but the Holleritter stormed the field with three goals in response to secure coach Carr's 150th win.

Sophomore Megan Nemeth earned the win while classmate Erin Gill made three saves.

Up next, the Devils hit the road to take on Kings' College (Pa.) in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. on Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m.
