Women's Lacrosse Holds On Against King's

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (April 8, 2017) - The FDU women's lacrosse team rode an 11 goal first half en route to a 14-6 victory over King's Saturday.

The Devils are now 8-3, 2-0 in the MAC Freedom while King's dipped to 5-6, 1-1 in conference.

FDU scored 11 of the 13 tallies in the first half, led by four from senior Brienna Reasoner. Reasoner also had an assist in the opening minutes of play. The Monarches got to within 5-2, but Reasoner had a pair as Cassidy Vastano, Samantha Holleritter, along with seniors Joelle Manganella and Noelle Shirey had goals.

Vastano added a pair of helpers in the first half, while Manganella had three assists to go along with her goal. The Devils held a 25-8 shot edge at the break, and won 10-of-14 draw controls.

King's broke the run with a goal with 27:43 left, but Reasoner and Manganella scored 1:12 apart to stop the momentum. The Monarches recorded three of the final four tallies, as the Devils got a goal from freshman Aliyha Elk, to close out the game.

Sophomore Megan Nemeth made 10 saves, as senior Brittni Calleo won four four controls to go along with two caused turnovers.
