MADISON, N.J. – The FDU-Florham men's basketball team fell to The College of New Jersey, 94-71, on Monday night at the Ferguson Recreation Center in Madison, N.J.
The Devils drop to 0-6 on the season as the Lions improve to 6-1.
TCNJ shot an incredible 61.11 percent from the arc in the first half and used a 10-0 run early in the first to grab a 51-27 lead at the intermission.
The Devils received solid contributions from their rookie players as standout freshman
Ahmad St. Fleur contributed six points, four rebounds and two steals. Classmates
Oliver Ortman knocked in two three-pointers and
Edwin Lopez helped out with three rebounds in the first half.
While FDU earned 10 fast break points to TCNJ's four, the Lions were lethal from behind-the-arc all night, giving the Devils little opportunity to catch up.
Late in the second half, FDU used a 7-0 run to cut it down to 20, but it wasn't enough.
St. Fleur and Davy finished the night with 12 points as freshman
Shawn Smith scored a career-high 15 points and Ortman totalled 11.
