WILKES BARRE, Pa. (October 7, 2017) - Junior
John Timmes scored in the 84th minute to lead the FDU men's soccer team to it's first win of the year, topping Wilkes, 1-0, Saturday.
The Devils are now 1-10, 1-1-0 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom, while Wilkes in 6-6, 1-1 in conference.

JT Bretschneider had to make a save in the fifth minute. The Devils fought consecutive Colonel corners in the 16th minute, while junior
Justin Barbosa had an attempt stopped on the counterattack.
Wilkes looked to have the game's first tally, but a header attempt was cleared off the line by a defender in the 27th minute. The 0-0 score held up through halftime, as Bretschneider had to make four stops, including two in rapid succession in the 27th minute.
Just 1:34 into the second period, Wilkes had another attempt that was flicked off the line by a defender before crossing the goal-line. FDU continued to search for a goal, but a shot by freshman
Ricky La Stella was snared by Wilkes' Tim Gallagher.
The Devils finally broke through in the 84th minute. After a poor clearing attempt, Timmes rocketed a shot from 30 yards out and beat the keeper top shelf, putting the visitors on top 1-0. The Devils held strong for the final 6:11, not allowing any shots.
Bretschneider made five saves while La Stella had four shots.
The Devils look to make it two straight with a 3:30 p.m. contest Wednesday against Delaware Valley.
