MADISON, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University men's basketball team failed to complete a near comeback in a tough 72-65 loss to Manhattanville College in a Middle Atlantic Conference matchup on Wednesday night.
The Devils drop to 6-12 on the season and 3-4 in the MAC Freedom as the Valiants improved to 7-11 and 3-4 in the conference.
FDU-Florham rallied from a 16-point deficit to get within four points of the Valiants with just over five minutes remaining in the contest.
Still, it wasn't enough as Manhattanville's Jojo Cobbs poured in two three-pointers, followed by a jumper to regain the momentum.
The sophomore pair of
Derek Leohner and
Anthony Mitchell highlighted a strong second half, combining for a total of 25 points.
The Valiants came out of the gate strong, posting 34 points to the Devils' 24 in the first half.
Senior
James Moran led the offensive effort with 10 points in the first but Manhattanville's Dom Arena was everywhere. Arena and Cobbs each finished the night with a game-high 17 points.

Steve Herdman and senior
Donte Ali added nine points each in the defeat while sophomore
Darren Davy put up eight points and six rebounds.
