th minute goal from sophomore
Chrissy Penney on Saturday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.
Penney tallied the game-winner 7:53 into the second overtime by redirecting a pass from freshman
Maggie Sohns for the victory.
The Devils move to 2-0 as the Dutchwomen go to 1-1 on the season.
Union College took the early lead in first half when sophomore Hannah Christian netted a goal on her own rebound.
The Devils kept up constant pressure on offense, outshooting the Dutchwoman 36-7 in the contest with a 25-3 edge in penalty corners, but had trouble sneaking the ball past the solid goalkeeping of Union College's Laura Aptowitz.
Despite several shots and 11 penalty corners in the first, the Devils left the half trailing by one.
Just 8:14 into the second half, senior forward
Kim Davis finally broke through, scoring off of her own rebound from close range to even up the score before Penney's heroics completed the comeback.
Sophomore goalie
Samantha Rubin made three saves in the triumph.
The Devils take on Stevens Institute of Technology next on Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Hoboken, NJ at 7 p.m.
