MADISON, N.J. -- The Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham women's tennis team grabbed its first win of the season by defeating Pratt Institute, 7-2, on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Florham Campus Tennis Courts.
The Devils improved to 1-1 while dropping the Cannoneers to 4-3.Â
FDU-Florham grabbed the final five singles sets and bottom two doubles to earn the victory.
Freshman
Christine Kenny completed her dominant first week as a Devil, defeating Eva Hau, 6-0, 6-0. Classmate
Mia Capozzoli took her first collegiate win by downing Sofiya Lavina, 6-0, 6-0.
Sophomore
Raven Dowling and freshman
Rhiannon Eppinger each contributed 6-0, 6-0 wins to the Devils at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
In double competition, senior
Remy Astorino and Dowling paired up to defeat Ivy Fu and Winnie Wu, 8-1 while Cappozzoli and Eppinger completed the campaign with an 8-0 win over Hau and Lavina.Â
The Devils return to action against Immaculata University on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. in Madison, N.J.
