WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- Junior
Melissa Gaffney's dominant offensive performance led the Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham volleyball team to defeat King's College (Pa), 3-1, in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom match up on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The Devils rose to 7-5 on the season and 1-1 in the MAC Freedom as King's College fell to 7-3, 0-2 MAC Freedom.Â
FDU-Florham recorded 50 kills to the Monarch's 33 in the night.
Gaffney led the Devils with 18 kills and contributed two aces, two digs and one block in the victory.Â
The Devils took the early lead, winning the first set, 25-13. However, the Monarchs fought back in the second set, winning it, 25-21, to tie up the contest.
FDU-Florham was perfect from there, grabbing the third set, 25-16, and the fourth set, 25-21, to earn the conference triumph.

Natalie Knudsen combined for a total of 21 kills.Â

Courtney Conte led with 39 assists for the Devils and freshman
Nathalia Padron made 14 digs.
