MADISON, NJ -- The Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham men's soccer team fell to Drew University, 2-0, in the 2016 season opener at Ranger Stadium on Thursday night.

The two teams battled through a scoreless first half, but Drew capitalized on two good scoring opportunities to seal the win in the second half.

Devils' goalie junior JT Bretschneider kept his team in the game with a diving save at the end of the first half to keep it scoreless.

The Rangers opened the second half with a quick goal by Sebastien Etta-Ashu off a long cross from Joe Sollod.

Devils' senior midfielder AJ Carnevale worked tirelessly on offense, taking three shots, but to no avail. Freshman forward Justin Estremera and senior defender Jay Bower each had two shots of their own, but none found their way inside the Rangers' net.

Drew's Cole Leckburg scored a reassurance goal with just over five minutes left in regulation time as goalie John Marques earned the shutout with two saves.

Up next, FDU-Florham returns to its home field in Madison,N.J. and will take on Mount Saint Vincent as part of the Drew Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m.
